“SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active–Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is a programme initiated by the Government of India and designed to achieve the three cardinal principles of Education Policy viz., access, equity, and quality. The objective of this effort is to take the best teaching-learning resources to all, including the most disadvantaged. Swayam seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of the knowledge economy.” (https://swayam.gov.in/about). The statement emphasizes the importance of the Swayam portal, an important initiative of Govt. of India for providing learning opportunities to all. Many Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) in various disciplines are being offered on this portal. Many institutions are producing and offering courses on this portal. Learners register for these courses and learn any topic of their interest.

Under the four-quadrant approach, e-Tutorial, e-Content, discussion forum, and assessment are four important components of any Swayam course. Teachers may create their eContent matching the Swayam portal criteria on the selected topic. This course is a systematic effort to develop skills among the working professionals to create eContent on the selected topic as per the Swayam MOOC guidelines.

This course is intended to develop skills in defining learning outcomes. Its very useful in Outcome based curriculum design.
